      Value of Data in Oncology

The European Union has set itself the objective of reducing the incidence of cancer by 15% by 2020. Is this target really tangible? Centre for Innovation in Medicine propose a new vision for cancer cancer in the European Union, based on data, available and emerging technologies and, last but not least, human intelligence. Genomics and other omics technologies pave the way for a deep understanding of cancer biology. The consequence is the incremental development of new diagnostics and therapeutic solutions for cancer patients. The value of data in oncology is still unknown or underestimated due to a fragmented environment. We can improve the collection, analysis and the use of cancer data in European healthcare systems. In the era of artificial intelligence, we don’t underestimate the eternal value of human minds as a key condition for a great vision and leadership in the fight against cancer across European Union.
